About the Course...

This program is designed for owners/producers and veterinary professionals who want to learn more about nutrition and medical problems affecting alpacas and llamas. It is geared toward providing practical information on management issues and diseases affecting llama and alpaca health. Emphasis will be placed on nutrition, care of the pregnant female, and cria assessment and development. Participants will also learn about selected skin and medical concerns of camelids from Dr. Steve Purdy, a national and international authority on their health and management and director of the University of Massachusetts Camelid Studies Program.
